I know I don't write very often, but lately I found myself with a couple characters in my head. Not sure if these are going anywhere, but they're in the same realm as one another. These are essentially character snapshots in the rough.

Some books are like falling into a world. Catherynne M. Valente's Under in the Mere is more like a literary intoxicant. I can only read one rather brief section at a time, lest I become word-drunk and spin with myth and metaphor. Interesting stuff, and rather addictive in its way...
