Brian Greene is coming to MCC to give a talk/presentation re: string theory. Those of us with MCC I.D. get in for free. Student I.D. gets you in for $5. Other folks need to cough up $10. Tickets must be acquired through MCC. They're hoping to sell out. WXXI is promoting and co-sponsoring. The main show is Tuesday October 11 at 7pm in the MCC theatre. Primarily for students, there is a second talk Wednesday October 12 at noon - I think it's in the same place. Is there anyone who wants to go with me (either day or perhaps both)? Is there anyone who might be interested in borrowing an Aidan for a time on that Tuesday? I suppose Aidan could go with me. It might be eye-catching enough to keep his attention. Then again, it's way over his head at this point.

I didn't know that this is the International Year of Science (being the centenial of special relativity). MCC is having Einstein week the week before. I wonder if I should dig out my Science Genius Girl costume. I should embroider "Freezepop Forever" on my lab coat...

I dunno who that is. That said, I do have an MCC ID, should I decide I wanted to go. :)

I think [livejournal.com profile] kolys might be familiar with his name. He wrote some books about String Theory. I'm kinda excited about it because I know very little about it and I'm interested in hearing more, whether it's bourne out by evidence or not.

It also helps that I can get credit in my Physics class for doing a writeup about the presentation. :)
