I guess it's that time of year again. It's less than a week until the first day of school. What was I thinking? Of course... it must be time for the district to fuck with us again.
The coming term should be interesting. I'm taking Educational Planning: all the grad school and career opportunity stuff I need and more. I'm also taking Religion in American History, Introduction to Ethics, and and in-depth look at Eastern Religions. Lots of stuff to get the noggin percolating.
I got my MCC diploma in the mail today. With distinction. After all this time, after all the rigamarole at Oswego, the becoming a mom, the being a housewife, the EVERYTHING that's come in between starting college and finishing my first degree, I now have it in my hands. It's the first brick. Next step, ESC. I start in March and my orientation is next Wednesday. And I need to know a stack of info for grad school so I can do the design-my-own-degree thing and make sure I'm a kickass candidate for a philosophy fellowship. Holy Bleeebles, life is happening!
I got to see the progress in Aidan's classroom journal. Wow. At the beginning of the year he needed help writing his name. The last entry was a well-thought-out explanation of why the flag has 50 stars and 13 stripes and an accompanying illustration. Even though it's what I've worked for and learned about GT for, I'm still spinning from having the piece of paper in hand that says Aidan will be a second grader in the fall. Wow.
