It's a possibility, but lower possibility than the abdominal surgery way. I'll know more after my pre-op. That'll be in July as well.

At one point doctors were performing hysterectomies for a lot more reasons than they do today. Now the pendulum has swung the other way. They'd sooner avoid them if at all possible. They use hysterectomies as a last resort. I definitely don't want to go through trial and error only to have to get one a decade later anyway. Before I turn 31, I'm going to have what I've wished for for years.

It takes a lot of convincing to get them to do it, but I think it'll be worth it. I hope you have luck with your gyn in that department!

It would be nice if people were given the option to get themselves spayed. Too many folks out there think of the benefits and not the risks, though. They think of easy birth control and forget about the pain. I'd bet that if hysterectomies were more widely available, some women going into it without learning what they could about it would sue their doctors for doing what they asked for. I wish I could say that wouldn't happen, but I'm too cynical.
