For the sake of brushing up, I reread the site about orphan kitten care again today. According to their info, he's about the right size to be about two weeks old as of today. Since we've had him for a week now, it seemed safe to arbitrarily "set" his birthday at July 22.
His weight gain has been right on track. He was 7.5 ounces a week ago, and he was up to 11.5 last night when I weighed him.
He's been eating well. Yesterday he upped his appetite by a tablespoon of formula. This morning Aidan woke us up feeling ill. (He's feeling fine now.) Leo woke up at the sound of my voice and started crying for food. I guess that means I've made the transition to surrogate mommy. ***smiles*** He has also taken to toddling around if left on the floor. He's definitely a cutie!
