Today was a killer shopping day. I'd intended on tights... I didn't find anything nifty in my size there. What I did find is the thing.

I finally got someone to pay attention to me at the Target watch counter. It's a good thing I did, since I found a watch I absolutely love. For once I didn't buy a digital watch. I'm proud of it, though, since it's the closet thing I can find to a pleasantly androgynous watch. It's design is simple and elegant enough to be suitable for feminine goth, yet it's large enough to suggest more masculine proportions. The buckling leather or pseudo-leather band hints more at the feminine than the other watches with the same style face and metal link bands. I'm pretty sure it was in the guys' section of watches too. Did I mention that I absolutely love it?

Then Lane Bryant. I went in looking for tights, but they just had the plain sheer ones and boring black fishnets. Ah well. Checked the brassiers, and found a cottony no-underwire, no-side boning style with lace along the upper edge. Pretty enough to let show, but comfy enough not to worry about chafing while dancing. Well, shit, no 46D no 48D. The woman at the counter ducked in the back room and found a 48D.

On the way to the try-on rooms, I saw what I thought were cargo shorts in black. I grabbed a 22 and a 20, knowing that my 24 shorts are a bit loose these days. They were skirts. No matter, I liked the style and it's been a long time since I had a relatively short skirt. I tried on the skirts first. Pessimistically, I started with the 22. It was huge. OK, I tried on the 20. It would still rotate entirely around my body without much effort. "Hey, [livejournal.com profile] mechanchaos, would you mind getting an 18 for me to try. I figured it would be too tight in the belly for me to want to wear an 18. It fit. It's a little tight in the belly, but didn't really show awfully when I was standing. If I'm on the way to loosing more weight, then the 20 would be falling off me way too soon.

I'm a little nervous about the belly thing, but I don't think it looks out of sorts on me. I'm tremendously excited about wearing something that isn't larger than a 20. Wow. If that isn't motivation to keep up the exercises, then I don't know what is.

I tried on the brassiere, and sure enough it was too loose on me. On a whim, I asked [livejournal.com profile] mechanchaos to pick up a 44D in the same style. On the loose setting it fit, and its cup size fit me better than my other brassieres. Room to shrink. It is disorienting to have to think about my sizes getting smaller before I'll need new stuff. I just need to keep up with the exercises.

The greatest part is, all the new stuff is fully Vertexable as well. It makes me grin wide! Now to try to find tights that will offset things just right. Does anyone know of a place to find nice and funky, somewhat on the darker side, plus-size tights?

I'm also getting back into wearing one of my collars to bed. Such an enormous Yay! for moving back towards the BDSM side of me.

(and you thought I'd be posting about getting laid, didn't you...)

Congratulations on losing weight. Isn't it a great feeling to know you are losing when you want to be? :)

Thing is, this week I went up in weight. I've been trying to keep with the exercises though. At the moment I'm trying to focus more on the exercise than on the food. Hopefully tonight's Vertex trip and tomorrow night's Continental trip will help with that!
