Last night [livejournal.com profile] mechanchaos, Aidan, and I had a nice time over visiting with [livejournal.com profile] adrianpaendrag, [livejournal.com profile] shimmer720, and Tyler. Besides the absolutely nummy Japanese-style dinner, it was nifty watching Aidan and Tyler together. All in all, it was a definite positive.

I think mental focus is a lot like the spoon theory when it comes to the Valium, though. I was amazed at my level of mental clarity yesterday, only to be totally sapped of it today. Luckily it was a day when I could afford to be napping for 4 and a half hours straight. Aidan was an absolute sweetheart and napped with me, without me even asking. He really is a good kid.

The plus side of the meds is that I'm definitely regaining some range of movement. It's not perfect, and a night's sleep still resets things somewhat, but I can see improvements. I'm also rather glad of the fact that the Valium gives me none of the nausea that hydrocodone, and occasionally codeine was prone to. I don't get that "the world's moving on me" feeling that I got with the Soma. I'm more relaxed and more positive in general.

At the peak of it's effectiveness I feel like one of those old-fashioned porcelain dolls held together with rubber bands. My rubber band has gotten old and too-stretched-out, though. It makes sense, since the target of them is getting that one muscle to let loose.
