Traffic on 590 was so much thicker than I'd been in before. Then again, it was morning rush hour. I was lucky to find a parking spot in just about the furthest lot out. Ah well. Bad parking equals more exercise! :)

Class today was somewhat anticlimactic. I only had one class. It seems like it's going to be an interesting class. I'll need to work hard for it. It turns out Dr. French has been teaching Reincarnation there for 24 years now! He's older -- going on 70 -- but he seems to have a good sense of humor. He reminds me somewhat of [livejournal.com profile] mechanchaos's mom, specifically how down to earth he seemed: straightforward, insisting on quality work from students, respectful, loving what he does.

Dr. French gave us examples of prior term papers, a list of previously used topics, as well as guidelines for how he tests and grades. I can remember how I used to slough off those kinds of handouts when I was younger. I might read through them once, then stash them somewhere and never look at them again. Thing is, those, along with the syllabus are rather useful bits of information. I wish I'd taken the time to grow up before going to college the first time around...

He also played the Ancient Mysteries episode on Reincarnation, describing it as a rather detailed outline of the sorts of things the class will cover.

Tomorrow will be my first "long day". Like today, I'm both looking forward to it and nervous about it.
