Today got off to a bad start. There was an accident on 590 making traffic a complete standstill. This was the day I was supposed to get [livejournal.com profile] mechanchaos to work, meet my aunt to pass over Aidan, then park, then get to class, all before 9am. Well, weaving through the city from the first exit I could get off at soaked up a lot of time.

My many, many thanks to [livejournal.com profile] mechanchaos for offering to walk to work from MCC today.

We drove to the visitors loop at MCC to meet my aunt, was accosted by Public Safety for being there, only to find that she wasn't there yet. We parked the car and hefted our stuff to the loop in time to see her arrive. Exchange of Aidan went well.

Got to class in time, sat down, tried to open my pack - zipper stuck, then broke in order for me to obtain my notebook for class. I've had this backpack since gradeschool, but it's one with a lifetime guarantee... I wonder if they'll still replace it...

Class got out early so I peeked at backpacks in the store. They're available on financial aid, but I'm not certain whether I ought to do that.

Got lost on the way to my second class but still made it in plenty of time. This, after I'd already scoped out the classroom earlier!

Went to where I thought my third class was, sat down with the one girl there and chatted a bit only to realize that no one else arrived and class had supposedly started... Turned out the room was different on my more recent schedule and I'd failed to catch it. We found the class toward its beginning and didn't seem to miss much. I don't like being late, though.

The classes themselves were fine. I explored the photography lab. It's got flatscreen computers in there and I think at least 4-6 separate darkrooms. The class is right at my level. All my classes seem to fit nicely together. I just need to keep on top of the work to be able to balance it with housework, being a mom, and sharing a car. There's only one class I haven't had yet - Com 104 comes tomorrow.

Getting home went smoothly, as did Aidan's arrival back with my Aunt. Study time went smoothly, though the reading is taking longer than I'd hoped. Tomorrow is Aidan's first day of school. I'm really, really hoping the bus is on time...

Ugh, your morning sounds like mine. (You know, only urbanized.)

I just wanna sleep.

G'night :)

Ugh! *gives lots of loving hugs*

Re: financial aid... think of it this way: You're spending a ton MORE money at the bookstore, for not such good quality. And while yes, it's not /your/ money yet, when it's financial aid... every penny you don't spend now is money that comes back to you later.

Re: traffic stuff... at least (if I'm remembering correctly) future Wednesdays will be bus-days instead of driving days, so you won't have that problem so much in the future - with all the running around and stuff. Still I'm sorry it sucked so much today.

*sends more hugs and more love*

Thing is, it is totally NOT OK for me to be walking around in this rain with a gaping backpack and we really don't have the cash to spring for a backpack right now. I ended up choosing a bookbag there, with John's approval. 'sides, I would have spent at least that much for a new LLBean one, which my old one was. I may still try to get the old one repaired sometime, but sometime when I'm much less stressed out.

Let's just say, the day's evils ended up not ending there... :(

Oops - almost forgot to mention that even though Aidan's bussing may be more of a stressor than a help on Wednesday. I still need to drop off John at work early and get to class before 9am. Wednesday, leaving at 7:30 ended up being not enough time for that. Some of that will be alleviated by not having to switch Aidan with a sitter. The meetup had been at 8:30. The downside is that Aidan's bus, at least today, was running at least 10 minutes late. I have a feeling it will take a few weeks to settle down a bit.

It didn't help me that this Wednesday I had a pile of reading to finish that had just been assigned tuesday. Yay for the syllabus! I can plan ahead and spread reading out before the week gets heavy.

Thankfully Thursday turned out to be more relaxing so far. It is like a security blanket to finish up my Thursdays in the Art Department. Stress management on MW will be helpful too. I'm kinda bummed that she doesnt have background in Yoga or Tai Chi, though. (It's ironic, one of the other classes she teaches is a Drill workout class.)

I so can relate to that. Gods, it's been years since I've been this tired... I have to practically do mantras to get rid of my headache. I love it though. I really needed to be back in school.

As much of a pain it is, as much as I'm having to learn all sorts of new definitions of time management, I know I'll be a stronger person for it.

Or a broken shell of yourself.

But then, that's MY story, probably won't be yours.

Eventually, I will have a clear enough head to get around to putting it all on the journal so y'all can hear why I've been so...random and incoherent and unposty.

Plus school=learning=sexy!
