First there was the waking up late and the getting to school late. What really shook me was roadblocking over loading the film tank. I could not for the life of me get it to go onto the reel straight. I backed it up and retried to the point where I was close to screaming or crying or both. Eventually, I gave up and rolled it, storing it in the small plastic film container. More than an hour and a half had elapsed. I tried to salvage the day by working on some digital printouts, but I kept getting crappy copies. Completely shaken by my sudden ineptitude, I headed off to pick up my grade from my second class.

That was the high point of my day. I ran into [livejournal.com profile] mechanchaos on the way and proceeded to have a mini-stress-breakdown. He gave me hugs and company and helped me feel like a human being again. I have a 100 average in my Stress Management class, which really wasn't much of a stretch. She had a very easygoing approach to it. I probably could have done half the work I did and still received an A. Still, it felt good to hear it from her. Then [livejournal.com profile] mechanchaos and I picked up some comfort fast food lunchiness. He gave me more hugs and company before my last Career and Life Planning Class. I'm doing well in that one too, though the period was simply filling out a couple class surveys.

To try to make the best out of my day, I headed to Kinkos to get nicer printouts of my digital images for Photography class. The lot was full. I had to drive around for 10 minutes to find streetside parking. They were busy, so they had to take down my information, stick my thumb drive in an envelope with what I wanted printed, and told me to come back around 6 tonight.

I had planned on going to a christmasy thing / town meeting at Aidan's school this evening, but I need to pick up my pictures and drive. Maybe I'll get the holiday books down from the attic and read to him a lot instead.

My lack of productivity in the Photo lab today means that I am very definitely behind now. Unless I get in for an evening open lab, I won't have time to finish my project. In order to get into an evening lab time, I would need a sitter for Aidan, since the lab time is from 5:30 to 7:30 Thursday.

Part of me is terrified that I will fuck up loading the film again even if I do make it to an evening lab. With the time tick-tick-ticking it is difficult not to let the stress overwhelm me. To that end, [livejournal.com profile] mechanchaos offered me his old film tank to load here where there is more time. The problem is, the lid has a crack in it. I might be able to fix it sufficiently with some electrical tape. Still, there is the risk that I might fog the film. I do have other negatives that I might be able to use, but there were some neat images on this one. I would be depressed if the roll went to waste.

Now I need to scramble to find a sitter on short notice for tomorrow evening, 5-ish to 8-ish. I need to improvize a darkroom here at home to load my film. I need to change the catboxes, since I've neglected them somewhat in the stress of the last week of school. I need to make dinner, take care of Aidan when he gets home, and pick up the stuff from Kinkos.

Please, please, please, please, please, can some of this go right today?

I need some serious de-stress time...

Edit:OK, at least the Kinko's stuff went right. The prints turned out so vivid! All I need to do with them is trim and mount them.

Now if only I can find a sitter for Aidan. I called my Aunt, but she wasn't home.
