Now the CD player doesn't turn on. AudioCatalyst has decided it will only rip cd's analog, and Winamp has decided that it won't play mp3s generated in such a fashion.
On the positive side, there is a smallish rental vehicle in my driveway, a red Pontaic something-or-other. Also,

Then, this morning, before we'd had a chance to place a single call on the new phone, we found that the cats had chewed through it's power cord.

Another goodness is a Zafu, which in addition to being an excellent cushion for meditation can double as an adapter to make the chair at out computer much more back-friendly.

Then again, I'm utterly insane. Despite my troubleshooting (both ends of the power cord, checking the length for cat teeth marks, and adjusting both outlet and power switches) the other day that diagnosed the thing as dead, it is now up and running again. ***shrugs*** Perhaps the Week of Stress made me overlook something.
