The weekend before last, I decided to try a visit to the First Universalist Church of Rochester for a Sunday service. I liked it. I like what they have to say, and I think it's cool that it's an inclusive community. I can keep exploring a variety of spiritual approaches and still find a connection in their community. I'm seriously considering going back.
This past weekend, I got to head back to Buffalo for a Beltaine ritual and dinner at
On the flip side, my dad was having what my mom describes as "a challenging weekend." Relapse-ville. Yet, somehow, I was able to be sad and disappointed without being angry. It's as if it has permeated to my innards that confrontation and anger does not help the situation for anyone. I think even my dad was struck by the difference of approach. I didn't stifle my honesty, but I didn't push it into a shouting match either. Even if it doesn't help, it certainly didn't do any harm. I feel a lot better about my reaction to it.
Monday,
We also wandered the South Wedge area. Apparently most places are closed on Monday. Ah well. We got to look in Obatala and Shango, a Santeria/Vodun supply shop. They had so many herbs, resins, and other interesting things. How many places up and sell saltpeter these days? It makes me want to pick
It seems this Academic Achievement Awards Convocation at MCC is a bigger deal than I thought. The administrative assistant to the Dean of Health and Sciences called up so she could set a time for me to meet with him. Apparently, he's introducing the recipients and wants to conduct informal interviews of everybody before he writes their biographies for the Convocation. Damn... This is a lot more involved than I thought. That's what I get for having a 3.973 cumulative average when I graduated. Hee!

I wish you quiche, cuz that was the best part of mine--after my favorite prof declaring his undying love for me (I can hear it any way I want).

Unfortunately, my favorite-favorite professor retired the semester before I graduated. Fortunately, I have five favorite professors. :) I'll need to polish up my Phi Theta Kappa pin for the occasion... (and take it off my winter coat) ***frets about what to wear***

Which reminds me. Do you want to do groceries together on Friday?

Just wear something nice. Ours wasn't fancy, but then, it was in the morning.
I'd never had quiche before. It was sooo good. One had mushrooms, and the other had...broccoli? But I couldn't get to that one.
Now I'm hungry. :)

Also, Friday should be doable with my car. If you want to get back into doing them together, we can take turns or something, and this week can be my turn. :)

That, and there's wonderful food in the area too: a cheesecake shop, an upscale sandwich eatery, and all sorts of interesting goodies in that neighborhood. I'd be delighted to take you there! It would be excellent to have a visit as well. You could pet the all-grown-up Leo!

If you'd not mind, I'd like to add you to my friend's list and chat on some kind of instant messenger, or email. Let me know what will work best for you.
Take care!

Adding me back is perfectly fine! I added you first, in hopes that we could befriend. ^_^
I do hope I can chat with you sometime soon, as I'm seeing that you're not quite online at the moment. Take care!
