Despite an arrant dollop of black fabric paint, I managed to finish my "Bisexual Not Invisible" t-shirt. With the help of [livejournal.com profile] mechanchaos, we came up with the sign slogan, "Pride: Now and Forever / Marriage Equality" with a pride-related UU graphic in the center. The sign turned out rather well!

We had little trouble finding the area for First Universalist to line up. What we had trouble with was figuring out who the others were we were supposed to meet up with. Finally, the summer minister arrived and she helped us find the others.

The parade itself went quickly. We saw my cousin Meg and my college friend Molly. The fellow we talked to at Equal Grounds recognized me and took a look at the shirt I made. Toward the end, we saw [livejournal.com profile] dawnstar and [livejournal.com profile] kolys, with whom we got to hang out afterwords.

We topped off the day with dinner with [livejournal.com profile] dawnstar, [livejournal.com profile] kolys, [livejournal.com profile] sealine, and [livejournal.com profile] openreel, which was a fun and fitting end to great day.

Not even the hecklers with their bibles and megaphones could get me down.

*hugs lots back*

It really is. Especially for someone who is not outgoing by nature. I wish I'd been able to do the parade this year because it would have been easier to "deliberately stand out" with my safety net of friends around me, and it might've made me a few additional contacts within the church. Even still, though, I'm glad I went. It felt great to be a part of something like that, even from the sidelines! :)
