I had my pre-admission testing yesterday at Highland Hospital. It was mostly paperwork, a basic physical, and two vials of blood drawn. To her credit, I had the gentlest phlebotomist I had ever experienced. Though it would happen to be me who gets the curious Afro-Caribbean-American nurse the day I wear Van Van from BPAL. Her opinion: "It is unusual, but pleasant. I don't know about that name, though."
My day was rendered much more pleasant by a trip to not one but two first-run movies. Who knew I'd get to see Harry Potter 5 and Transformers in one day.
I have less than two weeks to go before my surgery.

yay!
transformers was pretty solid. i def likey. it's loud. it's explosive, and it doesn't take itself TOO seriously, just enough to make it not feel like a saturday morning tv show.
harry potter i'm still on the fence on. it was good, doesn't seem to suffer anything(tho i am a non reader o the books) but then again... maybe it's the way they do the trailers. the last film felt like a let down because the promo's made the tournament out to be this grand affair.. and in the end it didn't feel grand. this movie, the trailers made this giant "rebellious war" seem pretty significant and fun. in effect, the movie made it more... i dunno... very low key... since i haven't read the books i have to go more on the trailers then anything else, and i only watched maybe 2 trailers early on when they released em.. guess the hype machine killed me.

I think Transformers was a more successful stand-alone movie. It even had the bonus of making me think about the details and analyze production choices long after it ended.
Despite being a stronger HP fan than I am a Transformers one, I think Transformers was the better movie.
