Well, once I'm in for surgery, I won't be up to letting my hair down for a while. I think this calls for something of a social gathering.

If you can read this, you're invited. Just let me know if you're coming, if you're bringing anyone, and whether you're interested in contributing to the gathering's foodstuffs. Let's see my uterus off with some good fun! In the interest of spontaneity, I think I'm going to open up comments for a vote as to whether to have it Saturday or Sunday, afternoon, evening, or both (because I'm a cheap-ass who does not pay for her LJ account and does not want her journal emblazoned with advertising). How's that for a total lack of decisiveness? Aidan will be here, so it'll be relatively kid-friendly. That is, aside from our usual irreverent and perverted senses of humor.

Hmmm. I have a hankering for mead. Maybe I'll get some to share. I'll get some sparkling juice too, for those who aren't inclined to imbibe heartier beverages at the moment.

So, what do you think?

Do you have the time, the means, and the inclination to come and share in a relaxed party?

EDITED To Add Plans:
OK - The ideas as it stands is to gather Sunday, sometime after 2pm (after 1pm may work too, it depends on when we get home after church) and before dinner, and to finish when ever folks feel like wrapping things up. So be it, if this means people dribble in and out over the course of the evening.

We should be available either day, but Saturday afternoon/evening is best for us.

I'll just need to know what the specific plan is, so I can plan for meals and such. If it is, indeed, to be a food-related gathering, I will certainly bring something to pass.

(Also, just to be pedantic - technically anyone CAN read this, since it's public.) :)

Also being pedantic: they can read it if they have a computer and are inclined to actually read my livejournal. :)

At the moment, due in part to [livejournal.com profile] aquinasprime's comment and in another part to my wish to have more people rather than less, I'm leaning toward Sunday afternoon. Dish-to-pass would be easiest, but I'm in a "more-the-merrier" sort of mood. I'll keep you posted. I still need to call [livejournal.com profile] hbbtrbbtbcnbt and ask her preferences, too.

Okies, just lemme know what the plan is.

We can bring foodstuffs - probably a potato salad, as I just bought a big bag of potatoes (as such, as much notice as possible would be good, so the potatoes can be cooked ahead of time and cooled for the salad).

Do you like potato salad, or should I not bother making it mayo-free?

Peter and I would be in, but we can only do Sunday afternoon (we have plans for Sat and I have to work Monday AM). I would bring some sort of foodstuff and we may even be able to provide some mead. Peter's brother made a batch and I'm sure we could obtain some for the event. I have not yet tasted it, so I cannot comment on the quality.

I would enjoy having you and Peter here, like I commented to [livejournal.com profile] dawnstar above. It's been too long. :) Anything you wish to contribute is welcome. I'll keep you updated on plans. :)

I edited the post to add in plans. I look forward to seeing you. :) Be safe.

What would you like us to bring? I will try to get my hands on some mead, but did you want me to bring something else - like real food, snack food, dessert type thing, etc.

Unfortunately, Peter and I are going to have to back out. Neither one of us is feeling particularly well at this point. I think I'm just physically and mentally exhausted from doing 10-14 + hour days at work and then cramming all shopping, housecleaning and seeing friends into the weekends. We haven't had a single day yet this month where we didn't have plans. And right now we're just not up for the drive.

That's much how I'm feeling -- 350 miles, wah! Once I recover from HP7, though, I might do a call-in if you all agree to Sunday afternoon.

Yeah. ***hugs*** I feel bad that this was much too short a notice (as well as inconvenient timing, HP-wise), for longer-distance plans to be made. I don't know who-all are invited to Aidan's b-day party. ([livejournal.com profile] mechanchaos is supposed to be setting that up, since I'll be out of commission for it, aside for attending.)

I guess I'm just feeling the oncoming surgery rather acutely, so I wanted to do something bigger while I've got the energy to. ***hugs more***

I am so sorry I could not make the parties, I haven't checked LJ for almost a month and today is the first time. Again I am so, so, so sorry. Is there anything I can do. The morning of surgery at midnight, that morning I lit one and said a prayer. I hope it helps. Good energy to you from the family in Buffalo.

It's OK. So far, things are going smoothly. [livejournal.com profile] mechanchaos tried to leave a message after surgery. Thank you for keeping me in your thoughts and prayers. ***hugs*** Every bit helps, even if you can't be here in person.
