I'm settling into routines with Leo.

He's getting pickier about how warm his milk is, now. I guess that must point to things being out of the "I need food now!" stage and into the "I know food is here, I want it my way".

I had a ton of cuddle time earlier today. Yay for warm fuzzies of a literal sort.

He is now a big honkin' 9.5 ounces. Yesterday his eyes opened just a crack and he peeked at me. It seems that since he got here he went from having little to no sheaths for his claws, to having sheaths that go halfway. It always amazes me how the skin grows around the claws rather than forming at the same time the claws do. Then again, kittens are so miniature when they start out that it makes sense to work that way.

He had two bowel movements yesterday, and one already today. Yesterday Minerva actually did the urine stimulation for me a couple times. Handy that - much less of a mess when she does it!

I was musing yesterday about becoming an official "foster mom" for a local shelter once [livejournal.com profile] mechanchaos and I have a house of our own. It is a pleasure to have Leo-kitten in the house.

Possibly....he's still sketchy on it. This is after we've assured him that it will most certainly be an indoor cat ( there were big concerns about fleas, and of cat getting out and into the woodshop. ), that it will be taken care of...he's thinking about it.

Matt knows that I love Leo Kitten...but we're wanting to know exactly what's involved, as far as shots, spaying, and the rough costs of upkeep. While we're waiting for an ok from Andy ( the landlord ), we can be making sure that we can provide Leo with what he'll need. It's not a definite decision yet.

*sigh* I've gone and fallen in love with a kitty :)

The first vet visit shouldn't run you more than $25 or so. The neutering will probably be somewhere in the neighborhood of $50-75. The $25 appointment will be repeated every year for shots and such.

Then you just have the unexpecteds to worry about.

I have kept receipts from all the vet visits for the Rainbow of Kittens and Minerva to ARDDA and Dweezil's stint with the emergency vet clinic. If you'd like to stop over some day, or even bring the whole crew for some recreation time, I could show you what I have in the way of pertinent info. ***hugs***

If repairs need to be done...

If repairs need to be done I would love to be put to work in such a way to make sure kitten could not get where he should not. I am not being an ass I just enjoy building things and twidling with machinery. Of course that would not be evident..:)

Cool :) That would be a huge help. ARDDA...that sounds really familiar...is it on Mt Read, kinda near Ridgeway?

ARDDA is on Ridgeway at Mt. Read. Dr. Kutrybala is the vet there. ***smiles*** I doubt it is the least expensive around, though I know it isn't the most expensive. Dr. K. is also, I think. Vice President of the Animal Emergency Services. When Dweezil was there, he got lots of attention from the assistants, as did the entire Rainbow of Kittens when they were there.
