Hmm. You're right, that definately is interesting. And.. I think I agree with it too. The problem *IS* exactly how much Bush has done (and not done) with his presidency. He hasn't been complacent. He's reeled back years of gains in things like enviornmental law, foreign policy and our budget for the "Bush Vision". That's why *I* hate him so much.
What I often wonder, is whether any of this really comes from the man himself or not.
Each single politician these days is not just one person, but a team of advisers, assistants, and speach writers. Each member of the team is influenced by campaign donations, lobbyists, and pet projects of close friends as well as poll results and public image of said politician.
Today's government more closely resembles a corporation selling public policy, than a responsible governing body concerned with the needs and rights of its constituents. The profit of their shareholders - the corporate ruling class of America - is what fuels decisions.
The Capitalist Republic of the United States of America is sinking towards becoming the Capitalist Empire of the United States of America. It is sad to see that in this electronic age where a true democracy is possible.
