Yay

The stress that had been building up underneath and behind the gathering this weekend has been released. I am relieved to have had a maximum of fun with a minimum of personal baggage. Thank the gods for small miracles.

The weather actually cooperated for us. Nothing better than having rain rather than snow for a three hour drive at 8am in the morning and another at 9:30 at night.

What we did have to contend with on the trip home, besides the fact that both [livejournal.com profile] mechanchaos and I had stayed up the night before, was the fog. Drifting white intensity seemed to loom out at us, spiritlike. [livejournal.com profile] mechanchaos said it reminded him of the video game Silent Hill. Having been a spectator for that one, I am inclined to agree with him. Every marker seemed like foxfire or someone walking toward the car. Then we'd break through for a while, the mists thinning just long enough to comfort us. At times I wondered if that was how people entered alternate dimensions. If the fog closed in, and they wandered from this world to the next, never knowing the difference as they try eternally to reach their destination.

Of course, the sleep dep hadn't helped. Here I am with the edges of the spirit world blending into this one, and trying to stay awake, at times to drive, and at other times to keep the uneasiness away.

To its credit, the trip down 390 and 17 to Binghamton is a beautiful one. Perhaps we will make the trip again sometime when we are better rested.

It is quiet tonight, in case there is anyone who could use a kitten break. Give a call or an IM.
