This kinda makes sense. I seem to remember adding tinjuko from a search into lj users who share lots of common interests with me. It's been a while since I've done that. Same goes for bansidhe.

Of course this script is unable to take into account the many interests that might not have made the cut for typing into lj. There are so many things I wanted to enter in, but I ran out of space when I tried. There's not enough room for all the things that catch my attention or pique my interest.

It would be interesting to see how this list would change if we could all list absolutely every interest we'd like in a database. I'm sure there'd be some fairly dramatic shifts.

Occasionally my free time encourages me to look around and friend folks that I don't know. A few times it was searching for those with the most common interests. Sometimes it's looking at friends lists of my friends and communities and peeking at different interesting usernames. Not really random, though.

Originally I'd signed up with LJ to keep in contact with my local friends. It can really make the world a smaller place, though. I like getting a slice of the lives of people I may never have met otherwise.
