I received a call back from the gyn yesterday. Lots of good news. There's no cancerous or precancerous stuff going on in my uterine lining. Tests revealed that it was a lack of ovulation causing my menstrual issues. In order to maintain my body so that I don't go long spells without a period then have the bloody explosions, she'll be putting me on Prometrium, a form of progestin that matches the chemical structure of the progestin produced by the human body. I'll be taking that for twelve days every other month. Can't complain there. The bad news is that I don't have an exact reason why I'm not ovulating. I'm not planning on having any more kids, though, so it wouldn't be worth the expense / discomfort of going through whatever tests or medications it would take to find the cause.

On the yicky-sicks front: my digestive system can shut the fuck up and do its job any time now. I'm getting weary of "getting back to normal" only to eat the wrong thing and end up with grouchy intestines, bloating, and gas. That said, gatorade is my friend.

So far, just random. I've been trying and trying to figure out what works and what doesn't but... eh. This afternoon a banana and juice smoothie was bad. This evening a sticky sweet, fatty salmon teriyaki was good so far. (Which I wouldn't even have made if it wasn't likely that the salmon would get iffy if I waited another day to cook it.) I have no clue what set it off during the wee hours of this morning. It's not acting like the virus anymore either. Nothing super-liquidy, but things moving both down and up between 5am and 8am. I stuck with Gatorade until lunch, but it made me shaky to do so. Cream of Rice is great, but not very nutritious.

Hopefully the protein in dinner will be a positive for my system. I certainly wouldn't rule out IBS. If this becomes more of a long term pattern I'll have to go be a pain in my doctor's butt.

I don't mean to intrude, clicked out of curiosity.
Have you searched at yahoo health for your symptoms to see if they indicate any thing specific? {Honest I am not a hypochondriac} I thought of gall bladder disease, which I had until my little enemy and all his marbles were removed, but that is usually aggravated by oily foods only. I hope that it is just a passing annoyance and that you are well soon.

I don't mind. I recently had a trip to the ER (http://www.livejournal.com/users/blackfelicula/95871.html#cutid1) that called it gastroenteritis, which I had unintentionally reinfected myself (http://www.livejournal.com/users/blackfelicula/96795.html) with. I'm thinking it might just be remnants of something similar, especially since two greasy slices of pizza didn't touch it and my healthy no-fat banana smoothie wreaked havoc upon it. This weekend has left my system undisturbed, so hopefully I've seen the last of the tummy uckies! I'll keep that in mind as something to check out if the issue flares up again. Thanks for the input!
