About 7pm I got a call from the vet. They had to put Leo's catheter back in. Earlier today he'd been doing well. His urination petered out this afternoon and as the vet put it, "He started crying again." The good news was that the catheter went back in smoothly, no big gritty blockage this time. They took the time to flush out his bladder well and plan to remove the catheter again in the morning for another try. Poor Leo kitty! This pushes his earliest possible time back to Thursday. I'll be calling mid-morning to check up on him again. The vet's opinion was that this is just a minor bump in the road. Considering that in young male cats these urethral blockages are somewhat common, I'm trusting his call on it - for now.
