Usually, if someone seeks to surprise me and the tell me they wish to surprise me, it pisses me off. That's because my imagination is a whirling dervish of speculation, and most people most of the time are unable to trump what my imagination comes up with. Thus, the letdown.

Tuesday, after work, he handed me a bag. I was loathe to look in it. I feared the disappointment if my imagination had indeed won out. When I finally peeked, I had to hunt for where my jaw had skittered across the floor.
He gave me an 80GB iPod.
I have a feeling that it will be an excellent companion for my convalescence. Now I need to learn how to use iTunes...
